From OUR Pastor
Summer is now upon us with vacations, picnics, fireworks, community events and much more. Chews remains open with a vital ministry of outreach and service to our community, Please be involved in as much as you are able.
I will be on renewal leave for the month of July for a time of rest and renewal as I begin my 12th year as your pastor here at Chews and my 43rd year under appointment in the Greater New Jersey Conference. It will be a time of reflection and renewal to energize and strengthen my ministry among you all.
Chews in the Park will be gathering at the Timber Creek Dog Park on Chews Landing Road. Our services are held weekly on Thursday Evenings at 6:30 PM in the amphitheater in the woods. The services begin on June 20th and continue through September 5th, with two exceptions. There will be no Chews in the Park on July 4th and on August 8th we will gather together for worship at Camp Chews right here on our campus. Don’t miss the wonderful opportunity to worship God in the beauty of his creation.
I am also excited about a brand new ministry called “Camp Chews” which will meet on the Chews Campus from August 5-9 every evening from 6-8 PM. Each evening will begin with dinner followed by various activities and Biblical application each evening. Camp Chews is for all ages (0-100+). There is an age-specific group for everyone. Please spread the word. Brochures are available for you to hand out to encourage your friends, family, and neighbors to attend. Register early and there will be a free T-shirt for all who do. Look in this issue of the Mouse for registration forms and information.
Every Sunday morning we will be worshipping at 9:30 AM beginning June 23rd through September 8th. Contemporary Worship will be in the Davidson Room and Traditional Worship will be in the Sanctuary. We will have Unified Worship Services in the Sanctuary on June 23rd, August 4th, August 11th, and September 8th. We will be blessed by special speakers, musicians, Camp Chews Presentations, and so much more.
We are truly blessed as a congregation and God continues to do a new thing among us. Enjoy your summer and may God’s love fill your hearts anew.
Yours in Christ,
