From OUR Pastor
Dear Chews Family,.
What a joyous time of the year as we focus on the good news of the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. “Because He Lives, We Can Face Tomorrow.” Life is challenging and we all have hurts and struggles. The Resurrection story gives us strength and hope as we ravel our journey through life. When life gets you down reflect upon the gift of the Resurrection. It is the Resurrection hope which allows us to get through and face tomorrow.
In this Resurrection season we begin the month of May with the National Day of Prayer on May 2nd at 7:00 AM in Gloucester Township Senior Center. The day is sponsored by Mayor David Mayer and the Gloucester Township Ministerium. All are welcome and you can pick up a free ticket from the Church office.
Mother’s Day is celebrated on May 12 and we are blessed to have with us Mrs. Sue Duffield as she shares the message through song and the Word. She will be sharing at all three services. A great opportunity for you to invite your friends and family to Worship with you! It will be a great day indeed.
The Greater NJ Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church will be meeting in Wildwood, NJ May 18-21. Representing Chews, along with me, will be Naomi and Rick Walker and Karen Henderson. We will see our former Pastor Walter Fenton entering into the retired relationship with the annual conference. Also, we will see our own Christina Yost Lelache moved from Haddonfield UMC to Summit UMC, effective July 1. All are welcomed to come on down and visit during the conference. All the meetings will be in the Convention Center.
June will have several special events with Pentecost and Children’s Day on June 9, and Father’s Day on June 16. Holy Communion will be celebrated on June 2 and 23 prior to my Renewal Leave. Our summer schedule will begin on June 23 with a Unified Worship service at 9:30 AM. Chews in the Park begins on June 20 at 6:30 PM.
Join us as we continue in the Resurrection Spirit and live our lives of great joy and excitement for the faith we have together. God bless you and keep you.
In the Love of Jesus,
